Bryan Awakening

The Awakening is a structured weekend experience designed to help you recognize Jesus as your Savior, and then make Him Lord in all areas of your life. You will be inspired, challenged, and equipped for a close, personal relationship with Jesus, and for Christian action in the home, school, work places, and community.
 
 The Awakening is for anyone ages 14 - 18 who wants to discover or explore their faith in a deeper way, within a safe, nurturing and confidential environment.  You will be led on this journey by loving adult mentors and other teens committed to serve Christ. 
It is suggested that sleepers have completed one year of high school.  
 
 The Bryan Awakening is hosted by the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, OH, but it is an ecumenical movement (non-denominational).  Universal Christian principles are explored.  Unique denominational doctrines are not included on the weekends.  The Awakening is NOT a substitute for church or youth group.  In fact, the importance of belonging to the body of Christ, and staying in fellowship with other believers will be stressed on the weekend.

What Happens after the Awakening?

One of the most important parts of the Awakening is the follow-up. Although the weekend lasts only three days, everyone is invited to use its lessons and principles throughout life. While attending the Awakening, each is challenged to:

• choose Jesus as personal Savior, and begin making Him Lord; and
• strengthen one's spiritual life through study, prayer, worship and Christian fellowship.  

Following the three days, sleepers are invited to become intentional about personal faith through local church participation, small group studies, and small groups. Small groups are three to five people who meet weekly to foster spiritual growth and to encourage one another to a life of discipleship.
